Touristic Attractions in the area
In the vicinity of the pension is the Municipal Park, the Village Museum and the Museum of Ethnography.
At approximately 10-minute walk are the Old Town Center, being in a process of restoration, where we find some interestingtouristic attractions: buildings of the late Baroque and Gothic, The Square Tower near the Butchers' Tower and Stephan's Tower, the emblem of Baia Mare city.

Stephen Tower Building was initiated by John of Dubai to commemorate its victory in Ialomita in 1442. Toate detaliile acestei constructii au fost însa definitivate de fiul sau Matei Corvin. All the details of this construction has been finalized by his son, Matthew Corvin.
Modern representative areas
- Cathedral "Assumption", located in the eastern area of the city, was built between 1905 to 1911. The interior of the building is of high artistic value, the paintings being made by artist George Basil.

- Culture House, built in 1971, has a hall for shows with 700 seats, as well as several other rooms for various cultural and artistic activities. The huge indenture gives the edifice a distinct note of greatness.

- Headquarters Prefecture of Maramures county, put into service in 1969, stores specific traditional architecture of Maramures, designers findingoriginal solutions based on the use of concrete elements, combined with local sustainable materials, like slabs of andesite, carved stone and copper sheet.

- Dramatic Theater has its headquarters in a prominent building, in style and proportion, built in the current form in 1967. A spacious lobby is decorated on top with a polychrome fresco created by the painter Nicolae Apostol.

- Planetarium, for all categories of visitors, is the most valued help, both for those who want to know the truth about theastral universe, and for those who want to know more about the starlit vault and about phenomena that we often have the opportunity to see there.

- County Library "Petre Dulfu" activates in a modern and unique building in the area. The new office was opened in 2003. The impressive book fund sums: 133,147 - number of titles available; 365,151 – number of copies available; readers enrolled: 31,328, and users listed on the site: 399.

- Museum of Maramures county, was officially opened in 19.06.1904. The heritage fund consists of historic, archaeological, scientific and ethno-social assets.Currently the museum is divided into 5 basic sections: Art, Archeology, Ethnography and Folk Art and History, each with its own organization location and status museum. With a clean well-outlined profile, the Art Museum is unique in the country because it displays only works that were realized by artists who actually worked at the artistic colony in Baia Mare and has over 3,000 pieces. The museum tries, through the works exhibited, to illustrate the complex phenomenon of Baia Mare a unique experience in its own way.

- Museum of Archeology contains a rich archaeological collection, brought together in more than a century. The vast majority of vestiges was obtained from excavations, but also from donations and purchase. The collection includes many pieces of Neolithic stone, isolated pieces and bronze storage. There is also a large octagonal pattern seal of the city from the XIVth century.

- Museum of Ethnography and Folk Art began activating in 1968. The growth of this department of the museum district, as well as the great value of the pieces, has imposed the organization of an ethnographic museum with an exhibition. So, from 1978, the Summer Theater building hosts this exhibition. The Ethnographic Outdoors Museum (Village Museum) is also a part of this museum inaugurated in 1984, which, through its exhibits (churches and houses of wood), exhibitionally recompose the civilization reality and the popular culture in the area of Maramures.

- History Museum was inaugurated in 1889, including approximately 28,000 pieces of archeology, numismatics, weapons, documents, guild objects etc, reflecting the evolution of local history from the XIVth till the XXth century.

- Mineralogical Museum was opened to the public on 6.11.1989 and the geological structure of the north-west part of Romania, through the numerous and various exhibits collected throughout the whole Maramures. The vegetation abundance in Baia Mare impresses beyond the multitude of the architectural forms. The abundant vegetation finds its artistic expression in Expo Flora, in the context of a major local event, the Celebration of Chestnuts, which takes place annually since 1993. Maramures is the northernmost point on the globe where the edible chestnut-tree can be found.
